Composed by two brothers Malcolm and Angus Young AC/DC is a hard rock band formed in 1973, considered the pioneers of heavy metal. In 2010 AC/DC won the Grammy Award for Best Hard Rock Performance. They also won Grammy Awards.


The Farriss brothers formed INXS, pronounced as “in excess”, in 1977. In 1980 they released their self-titled album. The band has won 6 awards from the Australian Recording Industry Association, including ‘Best Group’ in 1987, 1989, and 1992. INXS has sold 45 million records worldwide.

Midnight Oil

Midnight Oil was formed in 1972 and won 11 Australian Recording Association Industry Awards and was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2006. Their album Diesel and Dust ranked number 1 in 2010 in the Top 100 Australian Albums book. Midnight Oil has been commercially successful with its hits.
