The track was a part of Freddie Mercury and operatic soprano Montserrat Caballé album, called Barcelona. It also appeared on Queen’s Greatest Hits III. The song was released in 1987 and became Freddies one of his biggest hits as a solo artist, reaching number eight in the UK Singles Chart.
6. LIVING ON MY OWN
Featured as a single on Freddie’s debut solo album called, Mr. Bad Guy in 1985. The single peaked at #50 in the United Kingdom. One of Freddie’s finest works and defined his solo career.
5. THE GREAT PRETENDER
Originally recorded by The Platters as Tony Williams on lead vocals, and released it as a single in 1955, but Freddie’s version made the song popular again in 1987 and it peaked #4 in the UK Singles Chart. The song best fits Freddie’s personality as an artist and as a human being.
4. I WAS BORN TO LOVE YOU
Released in 1985 and was featured as a single on Freddie’s Mr. Bad Guy album. After he passed away, his band Queen, re-worked the song and included it for their album Made in Heaven. The song peaked at #76 on the US Billboard Hot 100 in 1985.
3. LOVE KILLS
Love Kills was his first song recorded as a solo artist and used in Giorgio Moroder’s 1984 restoration and edit of the 1927 silent film Metropolis as the film’s soundtrack. It was also used as the closing credits of the 1993 film Loaded Weapon 1.

The song was performed by Freddie Mercury from the 1986 musical Time by Dave Clark and featured on the Time concept album. The song was not a hit during his lifetime, but the posthumous released in 1992 reached number eight in the UK Singles Chart.

The title track for the first and last studio album from Freddie Mercury released in 1985. He recorded the album when his band Queen, took hiatus from recording, and all the eleven songs, including this one, were all written by Mercury himself.
