Warning: This Is Heartbreaking
We may see them as rock gods but at the core, they’re still very much human and mortal. And perhaps it’s painful when our favorite musician passes away because they’re more than the music they make. Their songs became our life’s soundtrack and those tracks helped us get through the most difficult and challenging times.
For some of these rockstars, it’s more tragic because no one saw their depression beforehand. No one found out about their struggles. Case in point: you can clearly see in this video how Linkin Park’s Chester Bennington masked his pain with laughter. And it’s heartbreaking to watch.

It’s not just him but other famous rockers too like Chris Cornell and Kurt Cobain. These videos taken just prior to their death will make you realize that depression and mental health problems don’t have a face. They can smile, laugh, perform and function normally but we don’t know what’s going on in their head.
However, some of those on this list suffered physical pain before they passed away like Ronnie James Dio who died due to metastasized stomach cancer and Lemmy Kilmister whose death was caused by prostate cancer, cardiac arrhythmia and congestive heart failure.
