Walk This Way
Aerosmith made their band official in 1970. They formed in Boston, Massachusetts. Guitarist Joe Perry and bassist Tom Hamilton were originally in the Jam Band until they decided to add singer Steven Tyler, drummer Joey Kramer, and guitarist Brad Whitford. Aerosmith was signed to Columbia Records in 1972.
The band was all rock and roll with clear blues influences. Released in 1973, their debut album was Aerosmith. Despite charting at 166 on the Billboard charts, the album is a fundamental record in the band’s anthology… it included “Dream On,” which is now a rock and roll anthem. Get Your Wings followed in 1974 and became first in a string of multi-platinum albums.
““Finally! We have been waiting a long time to honor Aerosmith with their star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Aerosmith is one of the greatest rock bands in the world and we expect many fans will be ‘Crazy’ excited to see them honored!” said Rana Ghadban, President and CEO of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce.
Aerosmith will be receiving the 2,657th star on the Walk of Fame on February 14. The band was supposed to receive their star back in 1999 for the Class of 2000- but unfortunately plans fell through.
The event’s producer Ana Martinez stated,“Finally! We have been waiting a long time to honor Aerosmith with their star. Aerosmith is one of the greatest rock bands in the world and we expect many fans will be ‘Crazy’ excited to see them honored,”
