Don’t Forget To Tune In!

A few months back, Aerosmith’s very first tour van was unearthed after almost 50 years by Mike Wolfe and Frank Fritz, the hosts of The History Channel program American Pickers. The van was found in Hampshire County, Massachusetts and has been the talk of the town ever since its re-discovery.

Joe Perry and former guitarist Ray Tabano confirmed that it was indeed their van. Like I said, this was a few months back, but now comes the second phase of this wild discovery, and that’s to see the van fully restored. Steven Tyler revealed this on his Instagram account.

Tonight on The History Channel at 9/8c the aforementioned historic van will be restored to its original state with the intention of being used again.

This 1964 International Harvester Metro was clearly in a rather rusty, unusable state when it was found, but if we know anything about the American Pickers, we know that they’re gonna do a bang up job!

“I’m afraid to say how long it is, but it’s been like 40 years since we’ve been in this thing,” Tabano told Wolfe and Fritz. “We’d drive from Boston up to New Hampshire for $125. Then after the gas, the tolls, and the food and back, we’d all make like $3 apiece. It just reminded me of the humble beginnings and I look at where [the band has] gone today it’s just amazing,”

Obviously, we’ll have to wait and see how this van ends up in the hands of the American Pickers, but rest assured, with their high standards, that this van will be restored to the masterpiece it once was.

Who knows? Maybe Aerosmith will tour in that van one more time? Yeah, probably not, but hey, I can dream!
