Brian may say Queen would have a very different lineup if they start in 2021 after defending himself in the criticism he received for his recent comments about the trans community, saying that his words were “subtly misrepresented” by a journalist.

May was criticized this week for criticizing the removal of gender awards at the BRIT Awards, saying that Queen would have to have a transgender member to be successful now.

Recently, he has cleared up his comments on Instagram and has said that he was the victim of “predatory hackers” who made him appear “unfriendly to trans people.”

This week, the BRITs announced the details of their 2022 ceremony, including the news that the Artist of the Year and International Artist of the Year awards replace the traditional Male and Female categories from previous years.

In 2019, it was reported that the BRITs were planning to remove their gender categories in an attempt to include non-binary artists. The awards ceremony, which takes place every February, was supposedly set to “evolve” and eliminate the categories in an attempt to change with the music industry.
