This Sounds Extremely Sad…

Legendary singer/songwriter David Crosby is undoubtably one of the most beloved and iconic musicians of all time. As 1/4 of the legendary group Crosby, Stills, Nah & Young, David has not only established himself as an impeccable musician WITH the band, but also WITHOUT the band.

This all goes without saying and just goes to show that a life without David’s music is a life no fun. Which makes it even more sad considering what he just said about his own life…

During a recent interview with Total Guitar, David bleakly went into detail about his life and how he feels about passing away, and well, here’s what he had to say…

“Most people… don’t want to think about the fact that dying is part of life. I… I’m at the end of my life, so I have to look at it. At least to the degree where I say, ‘Well, I have a limited amount of time. How am I going to spend it?’ What you’ve got to do is figure out what really matters to you and do that – and only that – and do that to the best of your ability, as much as you can, in the time that you have.”

It seems that David is at peace with facing the inevitable, something we can all learn from him. But it still doesn’t hurt any less to hear him talk about it so bleakly and candidly.

Nevertheless, I don’t think David is going anywhere anytime soon other than to the stage to play some excellent music, which is what he does best.
