They say that a riff should be like a good handshake: firm and memorable and every self-respecting band needs at least one to make the public fall in love. Well, what’s more memorable than the guitar riffs of ZZ Top?
ZZ Top first joined forces (albeit with a slightly different lineup) in 1969, with their debut single, Salt Lick, due out the same year. After signing with London Records, they began churning out hit after hit, quickly gaining a reputation for their bawdy lyrics, distorted guitar sounds, and humorous videos. Their success continued throughout the 1980s and 1990s, with albums like Eliminator and Afterburner racking up phenomenal record sales.
To celebrate the fact that, one of the best guitarists that exists on YouTube, @BluEsMannus Guitar Art, compiled and played 20 most important songs with greatest riffs conceived by the band from Houston (Texas); which is one of the greatest champions of the entire chronology of southern American rock along with The Allman Brothers Band, Lynyrd Skynyrd, The Black Crowes and The Sheepdogs, among many other aces of this deck.
