A newly restored and reassembled version of John Lennon and Yoko Ono’s 1972 Imagine music film and pseudo-documentary of Lennon’s recording process of his 1971 album of the same name is coming to select theaters on September 17. This new version will feature 15 minutes of additional material including video clips of Lennon performing with a variety of artists including his former Beatle-band mate George Harrison, Nicky Hopkins (The Rolling Stones), and Alan White (Yes), and his bassist Klaus Voormann. Footage of guest stars including Andy Warhol, Fred Astaire, Jonas Mekas, Dick Cavett, and Imagine producer Phil Spector is also included. The original movie was directed and produced by Lennon and Ono.
