Journey Announces Three New Members

Journey got their new rhythm section, along with a new second keyboardist and singer.

Founding guitarist Neal Schon announced the news via Twitter that Randy Jackson and Narada Michael Walden will become the new members of the band, as bassist and drummer, respectively. He also confirmed the other addition to the gang, as the sixth member, keyboardist/vocalist Jason Derlatka. The three new members will be joining join Schon, keyboardist Jonathan Cain, and vocalist Arnel Pineda.

Randy Jackson, the American Idol judge, will be returning as he was a member of Journey before from the years 1985 to 1987, and had appeared on the band’s 1986’s Raised on Radio. Walden, on the other hand, is a renowned songwriter, singer, and producer who performed in Mahavishnu Orchestra and alongside Jeff Beck, Tommy Bolin, and Robert Fripp as the drummer.
