Jon Bon Jovi presented a trio of Christmas covers under the title Jon Bon Jovi Christmas.
Bon Jovi took the focus for his update to Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers’ 1992 holiday tune, “Christmas All Over Again,” delivering the old favorite over upbeat acoustic guitar, violin, piano, and percussion.
Things get more “Christmas” with “If I Get Home On Christmas Day.” The poignant ballad, originally made famous by Elvis Presley in 1971, gives Bon Jovi a chance to show his ability. Sing along to a minimalist track, pining for a loved one during the holiday season.
The three-song set closes with a cover of “Fairytale of New York,” a classic Pogues Christmas tune.
The group’s surprise holiday release continues, which has been a busy year for Bon Jovi. Much of the remainder of the year was spent raising funds for charitable purposes, as Bon Jovi worked in support of the Invictus Games Foundation, COVID relief, and his own JBJ Soul Kitchen.
The biggest headlines this year was his group’s first new album in four years. Titled 2020 which was released in October.
