Margaret Nolan, the British actress, and model who rose to fame covered in gold in the film James Bond vs. Goldfinger has died at the age of 76.
It was film director Edgar Wright (Baby Driver, Scott Pilgrim vs. the world) who confirmed the news via Twitter.
“It’s my sad duty to report that actress and artist, the magnificent Margaret Nolan has passed away. She was the middle of the Venn diagram of everything cool in the ’60s; having appeared with the Beatles, been beyond iconic in Bond, and been part of the Carry On cast too. 1/4”
After reviewing the actress’s career, through several tweets in which she included images of the most important titles of Nolan’s filmography, Wright recalled filming with her during the last year.
“She was the middle of Venn diagram of everything cool in the ’60s; having appeared with the Beatles, been beyond iconic in Bond and been part of the ‘Carry On’ cast too.”

Margaret Nolan made her acting debut in 1963 with a role on the television series The Saint. A year later, the model played a Beatles fan in A Hard Day’s Night! by Richard Lester and the great leap came with James Bond against Goldfinger, where he played Dink, the masseuse of agent 007 played by Sean Connery.
Her image, with her body covered in gold, became one of the film’s great publicity claims and, to this day, remains one of the most iconic images of the 007 sagas. In fact, she, dressed in a bikini gold, was the protagonist of the film’s credit titles, which became the first sequence of credits of a film to be exhibited at the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
He was also the protagonist of the British comic saga Carry On and participated in films such as Three Rooms in Manhattan, No Sex We Are British, and The Power of Three.
