Written by George Harrison, “Within You Without You” would become the second time a Beatle has recorded a song without the help of any of the other three members of the band, just as Paul McCartney did two years earlier with “Yesterday.”

Recorded during the sessions of the album “Sgt Pepper”, between March and April 1967, “Within You Without You” would also become Harrison’s second piece inspired by his devotion to Hindu music, after “Love You To” from the album “Revolver”

The song featured the participation of an emblematic group of Hindu musicians, based in London and the inclusion of an orchestra, whose arrangement was written by producer George Martin.

The version that you can watch below, “Within You Without You” was included in the album “Twelve” that Patti Smith released in 2007.
