The New York Dolls, formed in New York City in 1971, are one of the groups considered as the key bands of proto-punk along with The Velvet Underground and The Stooges.
The group’s first two albums are considered to be one of rock’s best album, the 1973’s self-titled New York Dolls and 1974’s Too Much Too Soon. They were the band that influenced the ones who came after them such as the Sex Pistols, Kiss, The Ramones, Guns N’ Roses, The Damned, and The Smiths. 5. Teenage News
Teenage News was released from the band’s 1984 live album, Red Patent Leather. This song represents the band excessive drinking and partying, and led them to eventually break up.
4. Gimme Love and Turn On the Light
Gimme Love and Turn On the Light was released from the band’s third album from 2006 One Day It Will Please Us to Remember Even This — the song also features Iggy Pop as a guest on vocals. The song only featured Johansen and Sylvian, from the original line-up, who co-wrote the song.
3. Trash
Trash was originally released on the first album, but there was a different version that was released on 2009, on the band’s Cause I Sez So which is a reggae-style version of the song, people thought it was lame, but it actually worked.

End Of Summer was released from the band’s final album, 2011’s Dancing Backwards in High Heels. Featuring the two original members, David Johansen on lead vocals, Sylvain Sylvain on guitar and vocals, along with Frank Infante on guitar, Jason Hill on bass and vocals and Brian Delaney on drums.
