Meat Loaf, the rock star best known for his hit album Bat Out of Hell, died at the age of 74 on January 20, 2022. His family was in charge of giving the sad news through a statement published on his official Facebook page.

Marriage Proposal With A Salmon
In Meat Loaf’s personal life, he was married twice. As previously reported by The Sun, he married Leslie Aday in 1978. During an interview with Billboard, musician Todd Rundgren explained that the only memory about Meat Loaf that he will ever remember is how he proposed to Aday.

He Almost Pushed Prince Andrew Into a Moat
The brainchild of Prince Edward, officially dubbed The Grand Knockout Tournament, the unique medieval-themed charity show was a high-profile version of the classic television show It’s A Knockout. Meatloaf was one of the famous contenders, but the Bat Out of Hell singer found himself in the middle of an unexpected royal rumble on set.
He claimed that Prince Andrew tried to push him into a moat because he was jealous that his wife Sarah Ferguson was flirting with him. “Fergie wasn’t exactly flirting with me, but she was paying attention to me.” Meat Loaf, clad in fake armor, responded by grabbing the duke, who reportedly groaned, “You can’t touch me, I’m royal!.” The American rocker replied: “Well you try to push me in the moat, Jack, I don’t give a shit who you are, you’re goin’ in the moat.’” Meatloaf later claimed that the Queen “hated” him ever since.
He Was a Huge Fan of Hartlepool FC and Nearly Moved There
The fans of the modest Hartlepool team lost perhaps their team’s most famous supporter when he died in January 20, 2022. Marvin Lee Aday, his real name, was attracted to the team despite not being a football fan as such, however, the American ended up moving to England, near the city of Hartlepool.
It all started after an invitation to the television program Soccer AM, from Sky Sports, in 2003. It is a comedy and soccer television program, based precisely on English soccer, and that usually has guests, from all walks of life.
In that year Meat Loaf was asked if he followed any British team in particular and surprised locals and strangers alike by assuring that he was a fan of Hartlepool, a team that currently plays in League Two.

Meat recalled in his 1999 memoir, “To Hell and Back,” he saw Manson on the road needing a lift from Sunset Boulevard to the house of Dennis Wilson of the Beach Boys. However, “there was no Beach Boy there, although it actually was Dennis Wilson’s house,” Meat wrote, added that an upset Manson then told him that the world would soon end. Meat Loaf forgot the incident until he saw Charles Manson face on TV and the crimes he commited.
