This Will Make Your Day

These soldiers took their music seriously because their rousing rendition of 1974 Lynyrd Skynyrd classic hit “Sweet Home Alabama” really hits the spot. We bet there’s no way you can watch this and not smile. Everything about it just screams good vibes.

We love the video and audio quality too – the latter’s not easy to accomplish especially when the performance is done outdoors. But like what we said earlier, this is beyond awesome. It’s just fun to watch and they surely made Lynyrd Skynyrd proud. They definitely did justice to this masterpiece.

“I had this little riff. It’s the little picking part and I kept playing it over and over when we were waiting on everyone to arrive for rehearsal. Ronnie and I were sitting there, and he kept saying, ‘play that again’. Then Ronnie wrote the lyrics and Ed and I wrote the music.” – Gary Rossington

They did a great job with this cover and we’re kinda confused why it hasn’t reached a million views yet. This deserves to go viral because honestly, it’s one of the things we love about the internet – finding rare gems like this. It’s clearly up there among our favorites.

This acoustic version is the song we never thought we needed. Oh and in case you’re wondering, they have other kickass covers too like ‘Strawberry Fields Forever’ and ‘Ziggy Stardust.’ They sure know how to leave us in awe, They even performed with John Fogerty back in 2016!

“My own song ‘Alabama’ richly deserved the shot Lynyrd Skynyrd gave me with their great record. I don’t like my words when I listen to it. They are accusatory and condescending, not fully thought out, and too easy to misconstrue.” – Neil Young on Sweet Home Alabama

Thank you for this amazing music and for your service!
