Tony Iommi recently announced that he’ll auction off some personal items, with the proceeds going to the U.K.’s National Health Service to support the battle against COVID-19.

“We were about to announce a charity ‘evening with Tony Iommi’ to raise some money for the Birmingham hospitals, when this awful virus struck,” the Black Sabbath icon explained. “Now as all charitable events have been cancelled, I wanted to still do something to help. So, I’ve put a few things together of my own up for auction.”

The guitarist noted how important medical professionals in this ongoing crisis. “Without these doctors and nurses, what would we do…. we owe them so much!”

Iommi will release full details on his official Facebook page.

The auction and the items are available to view here.

The charity’s website:

Heartlands Hospital Charity is part of a group of four hospital charities, supporting patients, families and staff by providing those added extras which can not be provided by the NHS.

By working together under a single charity umbrella, the four hospital charities are able to offer donors and fundraisers a wider choice of fundraising activities and areas to support than if they all worked on their own.

Donors and fundraisers can specify a ward or department they wish to support, or can support Heartlands Hospital Charity as whole.

All the events and fundraising activities on this site are available for supporters of all four hospitals, and you can choose which hospital you wish to support.
