These are the songs your parents warned you about
Remember those days when people associated rock ‘n roll with devil worship? Yeah well these artists decided to have a little fun with it. “If they think we’re aligning ourselves with Satan because of our music, might us well write a song about him.”
There won’t be any creepy backmasked messages here. It’s pretty straight to the point – they’re singing about Lucifer so if you’re one of those conservative types who cringe at the thought of the devil, his horns, pitchfork and minions, then it’s best to back away now.
10. The Beatles – “The Devil In Her Heart”
Would you believe this song is actually romantic? His ladylove apparently has “the devil in her heart but her eyes they tantalize.” Yeah, okay.
9. Elvis Presley – “(You’re The) Devil In Disguise”
The fact that this sold over 500,000 copies in the US alone means the devil knows how to sell records. LOL
8. Alice Cooper – “Devil’s Food”

From the album “Welcome to My Nightmare” which chronicles a child’s nightmares – you know this is the real deal. Besides, it’s Alice Cooper. What else would you expect?
7. Metallica – “Devil’s Dance”
There’s no “devil” in the lyrics so we’ll leave it up to you to decide what this is all about – it’s not like there’s no giveaway from the first few verses alone.
6. Grateful Dead – “Friend Of The Devil”
Doesn’t matter if it’s about the devil but this is the greatest story ever told by The Grateful Dead and diehard fans know they tell great stories.
5. The Charlie Daniels Band – “The Devil Went Down To Georgia”
Who doesn’t know Johnny’s infamous deal with the devil?
4. Mötley Crüe – “Shout At The Devil”
A title track from their breakthrough album, didn’t we just say the devil knows how to sell records?
3. The Rolling Stones – “Sympathy for the Devil”
It is what it is – a song dedicated entirely for the existence of Lucifer. In fact, its working title is “The Devil Is My Name” so there.
2. Van Halen – “Runnin’ With The Devil”
This is one of those things that probably gave your parents mini heart attacks each time they heard you blasting it on your speakers.
1. Iron Maiden – “The Number Of The Beast”
The devil probably wasn’t too happy about Bruce Dickinson sharing his number. Ha.
