These Made Us Say, “Wait… What?”
We all have our favorite rock ‘n roll movies, something we like to watch over and over again. It doesn’t even matter if we already know where the story is going, or if we have memorized every single line – it’s fun, that’s it. But you may be a superfan of the following flicks but there’s still a chance that you don’t know EVERYTHING about it.
These facts may just surprise you.
5. It was Eddie Van Halen himself who was shredding guitar in the famous “walkman” scene in “Back to the Future.”
There have been speculations that Van Halen made a cameo in the iconic film especially since the cassette tape had “Edward Van Halen” written on it. No one knew what the song was OR if it was actually Eddie Van Halen who played it. On June 2012, he confirmed to TMZ that it was really him and that he was “just playing a bunch of noise.”
4. It’s Ozzy Osbourne’s scream you hear in “Moulin Rouge” when the fairy turns evil.
Kylie Minogue as the Tinkerbell-like fairy was originally supposed to be a muscle man with long hair who will be voiced by Ozzy Osbourne. Even though the concept was changed, they retained Osbourne’s cameo with a ‘scream’ during one of the movie’s most famous scenes.
3. In the 1994 film “Airheads,” Lemmy Kilmister makes a surprise appearance as another fan in the audience.
The movie has one of the most popular lines in history: “Who’d win in a wrestling match, Lemmy or God? Trick question; Lemmy is God.” But the rock god himself was merely part of a pretty nerdy crowd and in the scene, he declared, “I was editor of the school magazine!”
2. Randall Peltzer in “Gremlins” was played by Hoyt Axton, a folk singer and the songwriter who wrote “Joy to the World” which was popularized by rock band Three Dog Night.
Randall Peltzer is the inventor who bought the mogwai from a Chinatown store and named him Gizmo.
1. In the “Alien” movie, director Ridley Scott borrowed the blue laser lights you see in the egg chamber of the alien ship from The Who.
The band was rehearsing next door and they were testing out the lights for their show. What are the odds, huh?
