Olivia Vedder, Eddie Vedder’s daughter, made her singing debut with a song co-written with her father, appropriately called “My Father’s Daughter,” which appeared on the soundtrack to Sean Penn’s film, Flag Day.
Recently, pro-shot footage was uploaded – Olivia performing the song during this year’s Ohana Festival. “My Father’s Daughter” is a ballad with a strong piano and Vedder’s delicate vocal performance, which speaks of the strong family ties.
Oliva performed with Hansard, Ozzy Osbourne producer Andrew Watt, and Chad Smith of Red Hot Chili Peppers.
Eddie Vedder co-wrote “My Father’s Daughter” with Glen Hansard, while the song is one of two that Olivia Vedder sings on the Flag Day soundtrack. The older Vedder and Hansard collaborated on eight new songs on the Flag Day soundtrack, while also working with Cat Power on a handful of tracks.
Flag Day stars Penn and his son, Dylan Penn, as well as Josh Brolin, Norbert Leo Butz, Dale Dickey, Eddie Marsan, Bailey Noble, Hopper Jack Penn, and Katheryn Winnick. The movie and soundtrack arrived on August 20.
