Pink Floyd recently released a rare 1970 video performance special – originally aired by a public broadcasting station in San Francisco, CA – as a part of their weekly series of concert videos.
Titled, “An Hour with Pink Floyd: KQED” was captured in April 1970 during the band’s US tour in support of their fourth studio album, “Ummagumma.”
The hour-long program features Pink Floyd’s title track to their fifth album, “Atom Heart Mother;” “Careful With That Axe, Eugene;” an acoustic rendition of “Grantchester Meadows” performed both by David Gilmour and Roger Waters; “Cymbaline” and “Green Is The Colour” from 1969’s “More” soundtrack, as well as “Set The Controls For The Heart Of The Sun” from 1968’s “A Saucerful Of Secrets.”
The film was remasted in 2016 for “The Early Years 1965-1972” package release, and its subsequent release as a stand-alone, “1970 Devi/ation.”
Pink Floyd recently started a four-part weekly concert series with a video release of their 1994 London show from the group’s Division Bell Tour, as well as “Pulse;” followed by the 1972 film, “Live At Pompeii.”
