The Who was one of our favorite bands and they are certainly one of the greatest. We absolutely loved them, and to witness Pete Townshend writing skills was on another level. They were great by any standards. Invented a lot for music, specifically like Keith Moon’s drumming, Entwistle’s unparalleled bass playing and was ahead of its time, Townsend’s chord riffing playing.
The invented a lot of crafts, the windmills, even destroying the instruments popularized by them.
They are definitely worthy to be called as one of the “best band ever.”
So Where Are They Now?
Pete Townshend current location is at The Wick Richmond, London, England. He’s not currently active in the music industry, but his past concert with Billy Idol and Alfie Boe was last year at Rosemont Theatre, Rosemont, IL, US.
Keith Moon died on September 7, 1978, from an accidental overdose of the prescription drug Heminevrin, ironically prescribed to combat alcoholism.
Roger Daltrey, the group’s founding member, and singer recently performed last August 18, Saturday at Special Events Center, Fantasy Springs Resort & Casino, Indio, CA, US. He is 74 and ripped as hell.
John Rabbit Bundrick is not musically active today. He is best known as the keyboardist, pianist, and organist of the group and has worked with other notable artists including Eric Burdon, Bob Marley and the Wailers, Roger Waters, Free, and Crawler.
John Alec Entwistle, the bass player of the group, he died June 27, 2002, due to a heart attack induced by a cocaine overdose. Entwistle was 57 years old at the time.
