Don Henley, leader of The Eagles, wanted to clarify to Robert Plant the terms of their reunion. The former Led Zeppelin singer commented that Henley’s band was still touring “out of boredom.” The response of the musician has not been long in coming.
Years ago, Robert Plant said about the possibility of Led Zeppelin reuniting again is not likely to happen, then he made an interesting comment about the Eagles. Plant said, “Do you know why the Eagles said they’d reunite when ‘hell freezes over,’ but they did it anyway and keep touring? It’s not because they were paid a fortune, it’s not about the money. It’s because they’re bored. I’m not bored.”
And by allusions, Don Henley, vocalist, and drummer of the Eagles, responds in the New Zealand Herald:
“No, I am never bored. The truth is, we enjoy doing it. It is hard work, especially for gentlemen of our age, but the fact is it’s a fantastic job and it’s a wonderful way to make a living and see the world and get to travel and we take our kids with us.
I really wish Led Zeppelin would get back together because they were one of the greatest bands of all time. I think maybe Robert is worried about hitting those notes. He may not be able to unbutton his shirt anymore.”
We’re going to dream a bit, which is free, of a possible Led Zeppelin and The Eagles tour in the not too distant future. It would be great if it were.
