There’s Nothing Interesting In Today’s Music …
Music is a subjective thing and personal taste, but it kind of interesting to see how rockstar legends seem to hate pop hits today, or the other form of modern music – hip hop, RnB, and, things that aren’t “rock n’ roll.” Like most of us kids back then, we battle our way through to rock n’ roll against our parents. We were once called dumb and the music we grew up loving as well. And now without even realizing it, we and even rock legends, as parents, we now give the same confusion and anger towards the music our children and grandchildren growing up with – POP MUSIC!
But not all of them, of course, there are also few rock legends such as Paul McCartney, Roger Daltrey, Iggy Pop, Jimmy Page, and Lou Reed who are somehow supportive of this so-called pop music.
These are some of the Rockers who have issues with pop music:
Gene Simmons:
“I am looking forward to the death of rap. I’m looking forward to music coming back to lyrics and melody, instead of just talking. A song, as far as I’m concerned, is by definition lyric and melody … or just melody.”
“Run-D.M.C. in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame? You’re killing me. That doesn’t mean those aren’t good artists. But they don’t play the guitar. They sample and they talk. Not even sing.”
And of course, one rapper took to his twitter and fired back to Gene:

Michael McDonald:
The Doobie Brothers lead singer dropped a bomb to Kanye West’s claim at the 015 Grammy awards that, “Beck needs to respect artistry and he should have given his award to Beyoncé.”
He told ESPN:
“When Kanye gets to a point where he can actually put a couple of notes together either vocally or two bars of valid music playing an instrument, then he might have a right to criticize somebody else. Until then I think he’s just talking to hear the sound of his own voice. The whole kinda cut-and-paste thing is a certain kind of artform all by itself. I don’t know if I call it songwriting from a musician’s standpoint.”
David Crosby:
He said it all in just one tweet, — referring to Kanye West,

David Crosby can be a little harsh against pop artists but in a style of course.
Keith Richards:
This rock star can always spit out strong opinions, who doesn’t give any two sh**s or any kind of praise to things that don’t please him, personally. He got the love for the blues and soul, but hip-hop, and pop music, man, like I said, he doesn’t give any two sh**s.
“What rap did that was impressive was to show there are so many tone-deaf people out there. All they need is a drum beat and somebody yelling over it, and they’re happy.”
